Introducing Atlas
Atlas is a community of founders, builders, and curious minds. We write about founders and startups with Canadian roots.

Welcome to Atlas, a community of founders, builders, and curious minds.
Atlas posts written content about founders and startups with Canadian roots. We'll be posting things like founder profiles, company stories, and thought pieces from interesting guest writers.
We (Francois le Roux and Zaais van Zyl) started Atlas due to a combination of frustration, optimism, and curiosity.
But mostly curiosity.
There are so many Canadians pursuing ambitious ideas that are chronically under-discussed. Founders who have quietly built impressive companies, operators who've learned hard lessons worth sharing, and builders who are just getting started on ideas that could reshape their industries. These stories deserve more attention.
We want to highlight them. Not through hype or hero worship, but through honest storytelling that captures what it actually takes to build something from the ground up.
The first batch of posts will consist of profiles of talented founders in our network. These are people we have worked with, learned from, or simply admired. Additionally, we'll be sharing a few guest posts from writers and operators with perspectives worth sharing. As we grow, we'll expand to cover emerging companies and deep dives into specific challenges.
If you're interested in becoming a guest writer, please get in touch.
We'll be publishing 1-2 founder profiles per month, along with 1-2 guest posts from founders, operators, and thinkers. Between these longer pieces, we'll share notable updates: funding announcements, product launches, and other developments from the founders and companies we're tracking. Our goal isn't to chase every story, but to focus on the ones that matter and tell them well.
The best way to follow along is to subscribe to our Substack. You'll get new profiles and essays delivered directly to your inbox, along with occasional updates on what we're working on and who we're talking to. We're building this community one story at a time, and we'd love to have you with us.
If you're running a startup or leading a team at a larger company and you're interested in what we're doing, we'd love to hear from you. Whether you're looking to support the community, share your story, or explore ways to collaborate, please reach out.
This is just the beginning. Thanks for being here.
